Contest Every Race Website: Building a Scalable Platform for Grassroots Democracy
As part of the Contest Every Race branding initiative, designed in collaboration with Studio Lake, I was tasked with bringing the new digital vision to life through a robust and flexible website. My goal was to translate the brand’s mission—making Democrats competitive in every race—into a digital experience that empowers both the Contest Every Race and Movement Labs teams to communicate, organize, and mobilize more effectively.
Design Meets Functionality
Studio Lake’s refreshed branding provided a strong visual and strategic foundation. My role was to ensure that the website not only reflected this new identity but also served as a powerful tool for internal teams. Using Webflow, I built the site from the ground up, leveraging its components system to create a library of reusable elements. These components—ranging from hero banners and program highlights to impact stats and testimonial sections—allow the communications teams to easily create, update, and modify pages without the need for ongoing development support.
Empowering Content Creators
A key focus was on usability for non-technical users. By architecting the site around modular, reusable components, I enabled the Contest Every Race and Movement Labs teams to quickly spin up new pages, publish updates, and adapt content to changing priorities. This flexibility ensures that the website can keep pace with the fast-moving world of grassroots organizing and campaign support.
Impact
The result is a scalable, accessible, and visually cohesive platform that advances the Contest Every Race mission. The site now serves as a hub for candidate recruitment, local party support, campaign resources, and volunteer engagement—helping to build power from the ground up and contest every race, everywhere.
